Book Sales Calendar

-- OCT. 18: Harriet and her owners, Jody and Amy Farley, will join me at the Upper Cumberland Bigfoot Festival held at Cumberland County Fairground in Crossville, Tennessee. This is a big event each year for the area. It will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Farleys expect to bring Harriet to my station about 11 a.m. and stay for an undetermined amount of time. But I think it's a safe bet they will be there for at least an hour. If you plan to be at the festival, stop my station and spend a few minutes with who I am calling Upper Cumberland's Littlefoot. Look for my green and white canopy and the banner "Hey, Harriet!"

-- OCT. 24-25: Catch me at the crafts show in the Fairfield Glade Village Mall Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and then again the next day, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Remember that those who buy the books at these events get Harriet's paw print as the primary book signer!

Can't get to these events? "Hey, Harriet!” also is available on Amazon. Go to www.amazon.com and enter Hey, Harriet! In the search bar. I can send you Harriet's paw print by email.

Keith Robinson, author and journalist

The little stray beagle who became known as Harriet wasn’t just any homeless dog wandering the woods and neighborhoods of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, in the spring and summer of 2021 looking for tidbits of food.

She appeared mysteriously during an unsettling, even tumultuous, time for our country. The lingering COVID-19 pandemic still was keeping us apart, and controversy over the outcome of the 2020 presidential election between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden was tearing us apart.

The timing was right for Harriet to enter our lives.

An uplifting story of benevolence

Reviews

This charming little book will tug at your heart. But that’s not all. It will also help in restoring humanity’s desire for neighborliness, compassion, and belonging -- all of which is what makes a community worth living in.”

-- Rev. Dr. James E. Janecek, pastor, Fairfield Glade Community Church.

“The real-life tale of Harriet brings out the genuine volunteer spirit of Fairfield Glade residents. In a society where individual pursuits often overshadow communal efforts, Hey, Harriet! serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us of the profound impact humans can have through selfless service. This story about a little dog captures the essence of giving back by ordinary individuals who made a difference in their community.”

-- John Wedgworth, president, Fairfield Glade Resident Services

"I read it from cover to cover. . . . I cried and I laughed. I don't know what higher praise I could offer. Thank you for sharing the story of this brave little dog and the wonderful people across Fairfield Glade and the Plateau who have come to love her. But I fell in love with her through your words."
